Update #3

It’s been 3 weeks since we launched a call to help keep Largo. And this was a full one!

(And this update comes a little late, we were so good busy!)
This week we were in preparations for the Pop-up Game Café, we have another event next week — the Makers Meetup #7 and it’s been so great to see the community showing up for Largo. Thank you!

Here goes all the details:

Organization

This week there were many working huddles to organize and distribute tasks, in between the campaign and the event organization and communication.

These sessions serve to keep the campaign on track and distributed. By making sure we meet often but not too often, we can spread the workload between us in a way that is fair and sustainable while making space for collaboration.

Donations

And we’ve reached another milestone in donations.

This week we gathered 371.75€ from single donors.

Thank you to:

  • Tracy L.

  • Bairbre H.

  • Christophe G.

  • Curtis B.

  • Daniela C.
And we gathered 194.40€ from the event (see more details below)
Which brings the total amount of the campaign to: 1917.15€
Which means we have already achieved 4 months of the year of back rent we need to cover!
Thank you all so much.

Here is more details on how the Pop-up Game Café went:

For one afternoon, Largo was transformed into a board game café galore, where all the funds gathered are to help support Largo.
It was so much fun and so many people came! We also had a lot of newcomers getting to know what this space is about, wanting to come back for more.
A giant thank you to Polina and Carlos from Quintaessência, who started this whole thing by donating the pastries and cold brew coffee (here also goes another thank you to Ørigem, who donated the coffee). And to Afonso from Infinite Roll, who joined as soon as they heard, brought their library of games and explained all the games so that everyone could play.

What a great alliance ❤️

This is the accounting balance sheet:

We use a system of base and patron prices, so people can choose to pay a little extra to give extra support to the project. We were so happy to see that 77% of donations were as patrons. You are amazing!
We had a lot of positive feedback and requests to do this again.
Board Games create a great space for people of all ages to play together. This is such a rare occurrence nowadays and it truly made us smile till our faces were sore. So we really do want to make this more often at Largo.
Would you too like to join and help organize more events like this? Let us know!

We would also like to share some other tools we use.

We always prefer tools we can share and use with other people simultaneously.

For graphics design, we use Figma. This lets you have several people working online, on the same file at the same time. And it also has collaborative whiteboard files great for brainstorming.
